About Library


The Kachin Theological College Library is an academic library purely offering Theology. The Theological College has been standing for 55 years already but the library, as it is now, started only in 2002 because previously it was under the literature committee. At that time the library did not have a building of its own but only one special room for it. The new library building was built in 2016 and was formally opened on November 22, 2017. It was named “De Memorial Library” in memory of Rev. Lashi Labya De, one of the Kachin Ethnic religious leaders.
De Memorial Library has a collection of approximately over 12,000 books, several periodicals, and unpublished research and theses research books which are also available for the users. The library facilities made available to users include computers, scanners, copy machines and comfortable reading desks. 70% of the total collection are in English, 20% are in Myanmar and 10% are in Kachin. De Memorial Library keeps books in such fields as; Biblical, Theological, Historical, Philosophical, Educational, Christian Literature, Music books, language books and agriculture and livestock books.

Rules & Regulation

1. The clients must observe silence. Foods, Drinks, books and bags are not allowed inside the library except for the librarians.
2. Except the staff work-room, no eating is allowed in the library.
3. Library materials must not be taken outside without permission.
4. The library materials are to be used carefully. If a material were damaged or lost, the borrower (clients) may give back the same material or must pay thrice the value or price of it.
5. The clients have to borrow books with their own Student ID. ID is not transferrable.
6. The books have to be returned in time, otherwise, the clients have to pay overdue fines of 500 kyats per day for each book.
7. The clients will not be allowed inside the library in inappropriate dresses.
8. Reference books and research books cannot be taken outside the library. The research books can be studied only by final year students.
9. The clients must return all the borrowed books or materials before graduation.
10. Clients should not leave their valuable things unattended.
11. The library materials must not to be damaged, lost or moved.
12. Students, Faculty, Staff, Alumni of KTC, Church Ministers and pastors are allowed to use the Library but only students, faculty and staff are allowed to check out the books.
